New study just released in Italy:

A new study on the Shroud of Turin has concluded that there is no scientific explanation for the image that appears on the cloth.

After 5 years of experiments, using different methods of coloring linen, Italy’s National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development said that the image is not the result of any process known to the modern world. The study indicated that the image may have been created by an intense source of light, but no man-made light would produce the required strength.

Europe Trip 2011: Day 3

  • My mom, lola, & I all woke up around 3am.
  • We had an early breakfast because we couldn’t go back to sleep.
  • Then at around 5am we fell asleep again randomly.
  • Woke up at 7am & got ready.
  • We took a #72 bus via Maria Ausiliatrica where we found the Basilica of Maria Ausiliatrice (Basilica of Mary Help of Christians). It was nice to see Don Bosco’s beautiful work. This was the reason why I wanted to go to Turin, to see this amazing Church. Masses there were in Italian every hour during Sundays, so we decided to pray the rosary first, & then went to mass. Just a very random story: my lola met a Filipina woman outside the Church whom helped us with directions. She asked us where we were from, & we said Vancouver. Then she said that she has many relatives named Hidalgo back home. Naming a few she said were Dodding, Rosa-something. Funny how I mentioned that I know a John Hidalgo & she said it sounded familiar. Anyways, it’s around 1pm here in Turin and my Lola is sound asleep in the hotel. She needs many prayers because she feels very weak. It’s been a long trip from Vancouver, her food consumption isn’t regularly, & she’s very tired. She also feels homesick because she gets frustrated especially when we are out on the streets and lose our way at times. Hopefully things will get better since we are leaving for Rome tomorrow where we will be with tour guides, etc.

Europe Trip 2011: Day 1-2

  • Departed YVR at 11am
  • Arrived Toronto in the afternoon being 1 hour delayed
  • Arrived in Munich, Germany at 10:30am & delayed for our connecting light. My mama, lola, & I had to wait at Lufthansa for about 4 and 1/2 hours. When we got to our gate to depart for Turin, we were told that we didn’t have a seat number & that we were on the waiting list to go on the plane. Apparently there weren’t a lot of seats left so in order for us to get seats we had to wait last minute for passengers that are late/miss their flight to take their seats. The attendant told us that if we don’t get on that flight, we had to wait another 8 hours to catch the next one. But thankfully, we were able to get that early flight to Turin.
  • When we arrived in Turin, there were suppose to be people picking us up. But since we were delayed by 2 hours, the driver left the airport. So with our luggage’s, we had to take a taxi to our hotel which was about 15 minutes away.
  • We arrived safely at our hotel. Then we began to browse around the streets of Turin. We found an outdoor mall close by called Intercoop where we had our dinner.
  • One of the things that is so difficult here in Turin is finding someone who can talk English. Since this Turin is in the countryside away from the main cities of Italy, there aren’t a lot of people who can understand English. But praise God for people who try to understand us and for fellow Filipinos here!
  • Everything here is so cheap! There aren’t a lot of people in Turin. Busses are free of cost.

I knew I was going to say ‘Yes’ to him one day. I had absolutely no idea it would be this weekend…But God has a plan for me and I will fully trust him on this.

And to have the love and support from my PT family was overwhelming. If you didn’t catch on, Nick’s version of Taylor Swift’s Love Story mentioned ‘Boston Pizza’ which was where we first met. And yes to me his bad singing was adorable =p

Congrats you two! <3 :)
